Fall is just around the corner, and what better way to welcome it than with some cozy, classic, Pottery Barn-inspired décor! But don’t worry, you won’t have to break the bank to get that high-end look. In fact, everything you need can be found at the Dollar Tree! Yep, you heard that right. From wreaths to centerpieces and even a stunning Thanksgiving tablescape, I’ve got all the tips you need to decorate your home on a budget.
Let’s dive into some amazing DIY hacks that will have your home looking like a million bucks, without the big price tag.
Fall /Thanksgiving Tablescape on a Budget
One of my favorite places to draw inspiration from is Pottery Barn’s gorgeous Thanksgiving displays. Their themed dishes are so elegant, but the price tag ($70 for four plates) is a little high so instead, I headed to the Dollar Tree to pick up some beautiful dishes for only $1.25 each!
Then we get to recreating the Pottery Barn-inspired table:
Layer Your Table – Start with a neutral table runner and layer your dishes. Dollar Tree has a ton of different charger options in various colors and patterns.
Candlesticks & Napkin Rings – At Pottery Barn, gold candlesticks are crazy expensive, but you can grab dupes from Dollar Tree that look just as elegant. Make custom napkin rings by gluing tiny pumpkins and leaves onto basic rings – easy, affordable, and gorgeous!
Terracotta Pumpkin DIY
Here’s a super easy way to recreate those high-end pumpkins (that retail for $89 at Pottery Barn) for a fraction of the price:
– Pick up some foam pumpkins from the Dollar Tree for about $1.25 each.
– Give them a coat of paint (you can use spray paint or even Dollar Tree acrylics).
– Right before the paint dries, dab the pumpkin with a tissue or brush to add texture and make it look more like real stone.
– Finish off by distressing the pumpkin with a bit of wax or paint for that rustic, terracotta vibe.
Pumpkin & Candle Centerpiece
If themed dishes aren’t your style, I’ve got a more laid-back option for you that will add warmth to your home without the fuss. Almost all the elements I used here were from Dollar Tree.
To create this look bought small pumpkins (in various sizes) and then added some height, by using a wood-toned candle holder, topping it with a wood slice and then a candle (that I DIY and show you how to make in the video) . It’s simple, chic, and super budget-friendly!
DIY Fall Wreath Makeover
A wreath on your front door is the perfect way to say, “Welcome!” but who wants to store a new wreath for every season? Instead, try this clutter free decorating hack:
– Grab a basic wreath and change it up for fall with Dollar Tree’s affordable pumpkins, berries, and leaves. You can clip them on or glue them for a semi-permanent update.
– The trick is to pick muted colors that give off an expensive, Pottery Barn feel—think cream, soft orange, and warm reds.
This DIY wreath is the perfect way to transition your home into fall without adding clutter or spending a fortune.
DIY Candle Making
Candles are a must for fall, but why spend $50 on a single candle when you can make your own?
– I used Dollar Tree candle holders and soy wax flakes (or you could even melt down Dollar Store candles)
– Pour the melted wax into your chosen holders, add a few drops of essential oil for scent, and voila—you’ve got a custom candle that looks and smells like Pottery Barn but costs next to nothing.
Apple Dipping Station for Fall Parties
Here’s a bonus idea for fall entertaining! Create an adorable apple dipping station that’s perfect for guests and family alike.
– Grab some mini cauldrons and skewers from the Dollar Tree.
– Fill them with sliced apples and set out bowls of caramel or chocolate dip.
– For toppings, crush up your favorite candies and cookies (like Score bars or Reese’s Pieces) for a fun, interactive treat.
Clutter-Free Fall Update
Want to switch up your living room for fall but don’t want the clutter of extra pillows? Try using pillow covers! Just swap out your regular covers for some autumn-themed ones (like these I picked up from Amazon) and you’ve got a fall refresh in minutes.
