Here’s 5 Fall and Thanksgiving DIYs that are simple and affordable with most coming from the Dollar Tree. I know it’s still early, but trust me—you want to grab the good stuff while it’s available. Let’s get a head start on some gorgeous fall décor for your home!
Farm Fresh Box
This is probably my all-time favorite project! I started with two crates from Dollarama (you can also use four smaller crates from Dollar Tree), along with some foam pumpkins. After staining the crates with a walnut stain, I painted the pumpkins with a base coat of beige. To give them a rustic look, I dry-brushed shades of blue and white over the base color.
For a final touch, I added some Dollar Tree burlap, foam pumpkins, and white and blue leaves. I used my Cricut to add a “Farm Fresh Pumpkins” label to the crate, and the result was stunning. It looks so high-end and was super inexpensive to make! Click here to watch the step by step transformation.
Rustic Stained Pumpkin DIY
This project was a sweet and simple one. I started with a wooden pumpkin from Dollar Tree, staining it with a color of my choice. Then, I added a white stain in a crescent shape to give the pumpkin more dimension.
To finish, I wrapped the stem with twine and added some fall embellishments like a leaf and a tiny acorn, all from Dollar Tree. The metal words were painted and glued on to complete the look. It’s such a cute and rustic fall decoration!
Wall Hanging
If you’re looking for a chic, personalized alternative to a wreath, this wall hanging is perfect. I started with a Dollar Tree sign and painted it with Annie Sloan’s Provence color. Using a foam brush, I dry-brushed a light gray, dark blue, and white in curved strokes to create a pumpkin effect.
To match my red front door, I added Dollar Tree leaves in red, blue, and teal, plus a welcome sign. I even used some cute pinecones and acorns to tie it all together. The final product was a beautiful fall wall hanging that looks high-end but costs next to nothing!
Shabby Chic Centerpiece
This centerpiece is so simple yet so pretty! I used a sign from Dollar Tree, removed the embellishments, and spray-painted it with a base coat. Then, I dry-brushed some gray over it to give it a shabby chic look.
The centerpiece is decorated with sprigs of pumpkins, pinecones, and leaves from both Dollarama and Dollar Tree. No gluing, no fuss—just arrange everything as you like and you’re done! It’s perfect for a coffee table or kitchen centerpiece.
Burlap Leaf Runner
This is by far the easiest project and takes less than a minute! All you need is some twine and a couple of packs of burlap leaves from Dollar Tree. The leaves already come with wire, so just slide them onto the twine—no gluing required.
This sweet little banner is perfect for hanging on a fireplace or anywhere in your home to add a cozy, fall touch. It’s quick, affordable, and the result is super cute.
I decided to step away from the traditional orange and red fall colors this year, opting for creamy whites, blues, and teals instead. And I have to say, I’m in love with how elegant everything turned out! I hope you enjoyed these projects and got some inspiration for your own fall décor.
Stay cozy, and happy decorating!
