There are many belongings in my home that I “like” and a few very special things that I actually “love“. You can tell the difference between the two by imagining your reaction if that thing were to break or get lost. Would you just be a little upset or would you bawl your face off and immediately have to replace it? If it’s the latter, it’s love.
I am in love with my Roomba. I’ve had it for a few years now and my love continues to grow. I bought the thing at Walmart for $100 about two years ago. It is nothing special, just the plain old base model. It doesn’t come with any fancy self charging dock or even a stop sensor. Just a little round robot, that vacuums your house. My Roomba only can do one room at a time and it only has about an hour battery life, but I sure do make the most of this little vacuum!
Just today it has vacuumed the kitchen and living room, then recharged and did the bedrooms, then I recharged it for the family room. I am not kidding when I say I run it daily, multiple times a day. Why won’t I? All I have to do is push a button, empty it and plug it back in. Wouldn’t you use it everyday? I have a freaking robot cleaning my house…it.is.awesome.
So, if you are looking for a gift for your Christmas wish list this year, consider a Roomba. It will literally change your life. It will change the way you clean your home. It will make you smile each and everyday when you press that button.
You can’t find the $100 base model anymore here in Canada, but Walmart has the pet one for $279. Worth every penny. This one docks itself and you can set it to a timer so it cleans the house the same time everyday. Coming home to a clean, freshly vacuumed home everyday? Priceless.
Here are a few things I should share with you, just so you are fully Roomba informed. You do have to pick small things off the floor, just like you would if you were to vacuum with a regular vacuum. The thing transitions from floor to carpet, no problem. It WILL NOT scratch hardwood like a regular vacuum beater bar. It has a sensor for stairs so it won’t fall down. It is awesomeness in a box.
