How to Simplify your Life – Free Mini Journal

Oct 3, 2019 | Blog, Organizing Tips

I’m a really lazy person. I’m also a person who has high expectations of myself. I used to think that my “laziness” meant that I couldn’t achieve the goals I had for my life, but I was wrong. Working hard, while admirable, doesn’t always equal success. We can have all the things we want from life, while still having lots of time to relax and do the fun activities we actually enjoy. It’s time to work smarter, not harder.

I’ve always wanted big things from my life, but I found it difficult to consistently work hard, focus and stay motivated. My perception of a “successful” person was that of someone who got up early, busted their butt all day and did everything “the right way” in order to see results.

Despite my best efforts, I often sleep in, watch way too much Netflix and I rarely have the patience to do anything “the right way”. I’ve always thought that my laziness would be my undoing, but the truth is, it forced me to get creative with the tasks I wanted to accomplish. I found myself asking “how can I take shortcuts and still get the same result?” “how can I get this done faster?” and “are there unimportant things I can cut from my life that will give me more free time?”.

My goals? A clean and organized home? Yes please! Successful business? Sounds perfect! Having financial freedom? Give it to me! These may sound like goals that require a lot of self-discipline and hard work, but I can assure you, consistency and thinking outside the box was all that was required. I was able to achieve all of these things, without having to bust my butt or follow the traditional “rules” of success, simply by finding ways to simplify the process.

Simplifying your life is all about creating less work. It’s about making your life easier, so you can be happier. It’s about carving out time and space in your life for the things that really matter, so you can accomplish yours goals without feeling like a hamster on a wheel. It really is about having less, doing less and wanting less, so you can achieve more.

I still have a long way to go. I need to find ways to simplify my health in order to make getting and staying healthy easier, and I need to simplify my social life so that making time for friends doesn’t seem like a chore. I am not even close to perfect, but I have come a long way and I’ve had some real successes in my life.

I’ve created a free mini journal to help you discover ways to simplify your life. Journaling is an incredible way to gain self awareness, overcome negative thoughts and really create a path for achieving your goals. Journaling is also super easy, so even lazy people like me can do it! This Simplicity Journal isn’t lengthy, and it won’t take you more than a few minutes to fill out. The best part?
