Christmas can be a really stressful and busy time, and that can really take away from the magic and memory-making moments. This year, I’m creating some new Christmas traditions with these last-minute Christmas ideas. Looking for some fun things to do this Christmas? Ditch the usual Christmas to-dos and make some new memories instead!

Here’s my Christmas list, and I encourage you to create your own.

1. Do something kind for a stranger.
   There’s something special about giving an anonymous gift to a stranger. It’s a simple act of kindness that fills you with joy. We plan to make a basket of goodies for a neighbor who’s had a tough year. Maybe you can do something similar for someone in your community.
2. Have an ugly gingerbread house competition.
   Forget about making perfect gingerbread houses. We’re embracing the ugly! Blast some Christmas music and see who can create the most ridiculous gingerbread house. It’s about having fun, not perfection.
3. Bake Christmas cookies.
   This is a must-do every year. Here’s an easy sugar cookie recipe that’s fail-proof and fun to decorate. Throw on some Christmas music, bake, decorate, and enjoy. It’s a perfect way to make memories with your loved ones.
4. Drive around and look at Christmas lights.
   This year, we’re going to drive around and admire the beautiful light displays in our neighborhood while drinking hot chocolate. People put so much effort into their displays, and it’s a great way to appreciate the magic of Christmas.
5. Open one gift on Christmas Eve.
   This year, I’m starting a new tradition—everyone gets to open one gift on Christmas Eve, and it’s going to be hilarious. I’ve ordered custom inappropriate Christmas pajamas for the whole family. It’s silly, fun, and totally us.

Christmas is a time for love, kindness, and spending time with the people who matter most. Don’t let the stress take away from the magic of the season. Create traditions that bring joy and make memories that last.
