Motivation is a funny thing. Sometimes it hits me unexpectedly and at the most inappropriate times (like in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping, but I suddenly have the urge to finish my zombie apocalypse novel). Most of the time though, it’s this elusive thing I can never seem to grasp ahold of, no matter how hard I try.
I want to accomplish great things in my life. I need to be more productive in my day-to-day, but wanting and needing doesn’t always translate into action. Hoping and wishing hasn’t been much help either.
In my forty years on this planet, I’ve become an absolute expert on one thing in particular: procrastination. My constant struggle with self motivation has lead me down a wonderful journey of self awareness though, and I am always trying new tips and techniques to help me find that elusive motivation.
Many things I have tried did not work out so well, but from all my failures have also come some wonderful results. One of the most impactful techniques I use to create my own motivation (instead of waiting for it to arrive) is through mindset. For the longest time, I didn’t realize the direct impact my thoughts had on my reluctance to get stuff done. I also had no idea how easy it was to reverse those thoughts and feel motivated to complete my never ending to-do list.
In my latest podcast, I share with you how this simple mindset trick can help you become happier and much more productive.
